Mason Bullfrogs Swim Club

 The Groups!

Swimming is a great sport to participate in both for competition and to keep in shape! Most coaches of 'dry-land' sports recommend swimming during off seasons to keep their atheletes lean, and to improve their endurance. While our club deals with competitive swimming we also want to give swimmers a place to come learn to swim so as to have a way to stay in shape for the rest of their lives.

White Group (Beginner): will focus on teaching stroke techniques for freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and will start to get into the butterfly stroke. Children age 8 and under should have completed Level 3 of the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program (ARC LSP), and children older than age 8 should have completed Level 4 of the ARC LSP or been granted permission to enroll.

Blue Group (Intermediate): will focus on helping swimmers build the endurance to swim longer distances, and refine the techniques necessary for each stroke. Blue Group will also work on skills such as Hypoxic Breathing (breathing on a defined number of strokes), flip turns for freestyle and backstroke, breaststroke timing. In Blue Group your swimmer  will also continue to refine the butterfly stroke and introduce the Individual Medley (IM).

Red Group (Advanced): will focus on molding swimmers into a more competitive swimmer. In Red Group swimmers will tweak those last glitches in their stroke technique and begin to prepare for high school swimming. Swimmers can still participate in Red Group if they do not wish to become more competitive, this group will also be for swimmers who have advanced past the abilities that will be taught in Blue Group and want to continue learning about swim techniques. The requirements for advancing into the Red Group are: attentiveness during practice, times at swim meets, proficiency in all strokes, performance in previous Groups, and the ability to perform at a higher level for longer periods of time.
